An overseas investor is being offered a renovation project in the Mayenne in the Pays de la Loire region for the bargain price of €66,000.

The French Estate Agents, the company marketing the property, claims that the new roof alone would cost that much if you tried to build a similar house yourself and that the finished project will provide a secure rental investment particularly as a mortgage available for the purchase plus any work that needs doing.

It is a solid stone property in need of complete internal renovation, but the four bedroomed house over three floors has many interesting features including high ceilings, tall windows and a large walk-in stone bread oven. There is already a water and electricity supply to the property.

The internal walls are intact, but complete new flooring for the upper floors is required. The house has a courtyard, and the garden overlooks the surrounding countryside.

The property is just a few kilometres from the village which has a boulangerie, post office, hairdresser, school, bar/tabac/restaurant and gift shop and an Internet Cafe.

The nearby town of Ernee has a weekly market, and 38kms away is the lovely town of Laval which has the Mayenne river running through the centre, and is famous for its Christmas Lights.

From here you can take the fast TGV train and be in Paris in two hours.

There are economy flights from Rennes (60kms) Dinard (100kms) Nantes (160kms) and the ferry port of St Malo is 97kms drive and Caen, 145kms).
