Le Hameau des Rennes, a collection of luxury ski-in ski-out chalets and chalet style apartments in the expanding resort of Vars in the Southern Alps is being marketed in the UK by Erna Low Property.

Situated at 2000m, Vars-les-Claux is the highest of the four Vars villages including Saint Marcellin, Sainte Marie and Sainte Catherine which form part of ‘La Forêt Blanche’ ski domain. It connects with the well known resort of Risoul and there are plans now in place to expand the ski area, plus additional villages will eventually be linked to the expanding ski area.

Le Hameau des Rennes is situated in its own valley and surrounded by breathtaking views. There will be one, two and three bedroom apartments in a traditional alpine local ‘queyrassin’ style predominantly using heavy woods and stone in the construction.

Secure underground parking will be available to allow for a ‘pedestrian village’ linking directly to the slopes. There will be a wealth of services for owners and visitors such as a sauna, indoor pool, exercise room and room service. There will also be a number of commercial outlets and amenities within the project including ski hire as well as restaurants, bars and grocery stores.

The apartments and chalets are available either as a traditional freehold acquisition or on the French leaseback scheme with guaranteed rental returns of up to 4 percent plus usage options. Prices start from 198,000 EUR on the leaseback scheme and the project is due for completion in December 2008.

There are many activities on offer in the resort which attracts visitors in both the summer and winter months. Aside from skiing and snowboarding, visitors can enjoy skidooing, dog sledging, toboggan, ice skating, Nordic skiing and other wintersports.

In summer there is hiking, mountain biking and golfing. The centre of the resort has log cabin bars, restaurants and discos which are easily accessible from the development, but far enough away to remain tranquil.

Le Hameau des Rennes is one and a half hours drive from Grenoble and accessible by train to Guillestre which is 15 km from Vars and linked by shuttle buses between the station and the resort. Site visits are available with an English speaking representative.
