Hundreds of property professionals from Arabia’s most prominent companies gathered at a high profile gala presentation dinner at the Madinat Jumeirah in Dubai recently.
They were there to hear the results of the Arabian Property Awards 2009 in association with CNBC Arabiya.
Special guests included the Mayor of Riyadh, Prince Abdul Aziz Al-Ayaf, who received an Arabian Property Award as well as an International Property Awards’ nomination for Best Leisure Development.
Also in attendance was the Moroccan Ambassador for the Emirates who was there to support Richard Hennessy (of the world-famous brandy company) as he collected the Best Golf Development award for the Savannah Country Club in Marrakesh.
The Arabian Property Awards are run in conjunction with the International Property Awards, which is dedicated to finding the best residential and commercial real estate professionals across the globe.
On 12 November, top scoring winners from the Arabian Property Awards will compete against other winning companies from Asia Pacific, Europe & Africa, the UK and Americas to find the World’s Best in each category.
Organiser Stuart Shield said: “It never ceases to amaze me how companies manage to produce entries which exceed even our judges’ high expectations for quality and professionalism year on year.
“And this covers every category from architecture and high rise developments, which of course are prevalent in Arabia, to interior design and real estate agency proficiency and customer service.
“I’d like to congratulate all the winners of the Arabian Property Awards for excelling themselves once again, ensuring the standard of the contest continues to soar and raise the benchmark for the entire industry.
“I truly believe that the International Property Awards coming up in San Diego next month where we reveal the ultimate winners from around the world will be one of the most fiercely contested competitions we’ve experienced to date. The judges have a hard job ahead of them.”
This year’s judges included Ben Wood, industry head property markets of Google UK; Peter Bolton King, group chief executive of the National Federation of Property Professionals; Imtiaz Farookhi, chief executive of the National House Building Council; Christopher Hall, president elect of FIABCI; Wilhelm Harnish, Master Builders of Australia (MBA); Thijs Stoffer, International Consortium of Real Estate Agents Association (ICREA); Helen Shield, editor-in-chief of International Homes magazine and Gillian Farr, head of design of Laura Ashley Home.
