French developer MGM has sold all but 12 of the 45 leaseback apartments it has built at Le Coeur d’Or, a residence de tourisme alongside a new cinema and bowling centre in the small Alpine town of Bourg St Maurice at the heart of the Tarentaise Valley.

The development has plenty of appeal to fly to let investors looking for mountain based locations as it is a few minutes walk of the town’s French railway station which is the hub for coach service links with numerous popular ski resorts.

Eurostar goes direct to the station from London during the ski season, and in the summer months Eurostar travellers can catch the train from St Pancras International or Ashford International to Paris and then take the TGV journey to Bourg St Maurice.

It is also possible to drive to the area from the UK in a day, or for those who prefer to fly the nearest airports are at Chambery (one hour and 10 minutes by road) and Lyon (one hour and 45 minutes away by road).

Nearby ski areas include Tignes, Val d’Isere, la Rosiere, Vallandry and La Plagne. Also nearby is a seven-minute funicular railway to Les Arcs 1600 and the 420 km of pistes of the Paradiski skiing area.

A swimming pool is already in place within the residence and when work has been completed on new sauna, hammam, massage and other treatment rooms later this year, Le Coeur d’Or will achieve four-star status.

Prices start at €216,500 for a three-bedroom duplex apartment. The cost excludes VAT which is waived under the leaseback schemes available. MGM offers lease deals with guaranteed rental income and four weeks personal use or a lease with price reduction and six weeks personal use. The company has also launched a special new scheme for buyers at Le Coeur d’Or which is ideally located for holidays at all times of the year.

Also available in Bourg St Maurice are apartments at Le Grand Coeur, a new town centre development of apartments for outright purchase within a five-minute walk of Bourg St Maurice railway station. Prices start at €153,000 for a 42 sq m one-bedroom apartment, rising to €415,000 for a four-bedroom, two-bathroom home of 90 sq m.

A half hour’s drive from Bourg St Maurice is Sainte Foy where guaranteed and index-linked returns for 18+ years are being offered in La Chapelle, a 4 star block of 68 apartments. Two bedroom apartments start at €248,000.

All the properties come with fully fitted kitchens and flat screen TV’s. Shared facilities include an in/out pool, Sauna, Turkish Baths and a spa.
